Our Mission Duvall Homes exists for the benefit of individuals with developmental disabilities who require extensive services and care, and seeks to provide the highest quality of life and greatest level of independence for each resident by creating an individualized plan that includes opportunities for personal growth. Providing social and vocational experiences in the community are key components in an effective program that leads to a life of dignity and independence for each resident.

Licensed by Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Duvall Homes, Inc. is a Florida nonprofit 501(c)3 Corporation employing approximately 130 trained and certified professionals, with an average of 10+ years experience, who provide quality residential care and day training for people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome and a broad range of other disabilities.

Resident Assistant / Direct Support Professional (Full Time, 2nd and 3rd shifts) Resident Assistants are caregivers who are responsible for assisting in, and reporting on, the coordination and supervision of residential and behavioral services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years and possess a valid Florida Drivers License
  • Must be energetic, compassionate, caring and dedicated with respect to working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Must have at least one year working experience with developmentally disabled population, and/or 30-semester hours or college or vocational school in counseling, special education, mental health, guidance, social work or health and rehabilitative services only
  • Must possess a High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school
  • Must practice confidentiality regarding staff and resident information and peer leadership
  • Must possess a clean County and Level 2 Background Screening
  • Must pass Drug Urinalysis Clearance
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds

Training During First 90 Days: CPR, First Aid, Abuse & Neglect, Client Rights, Therap Health Records, Behavior Management & Support and Certified Medication Administration & Validation
