Direct Support Professional (Full Time 2nd and 3rd shifts) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are caregivers who are responsible for assisting in, and reporting on, the coordination and supervision of residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Effective 3/13/18: – All New Full Time DSP’s are eligible to receive a $1,000 taxable hiring bonus after completing 1 (one) full year of employment.
- Must be 21 years and possess a valid Florida Drivers License
- Must be energetic, compassionate, caring and dedicated with respect to working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Must be available to work weekends
- Must have at least one year working experience with developmentally disabled population, and/or 30-semester hours or college or vocational school in counseling, special education, mental health, guidance, social work or health and rehabilitative services only
- Must possess a High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school
- Must practice confidentiality regarding staff and resident information and peer leadership
- Must possess a clean County and Level 2 Background Screening
- Must pass Drug Urinalysis Clearance
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
Training During First 90 Days: CPR, First Aid, Abuse & Neglect, Client Rights, Therap Health Records, Behavior Management & Support and Certified Medication Administration & Validation
Hourly Rate: The starting base pay rate is $10.00. Effective March 4, 2018, shift premium for 2nd shift is base pay plus $0.25 per hour, and for 3rd shift is base pay plus $1.00 per hour. 2nd, or 3rd shift, including nights and weekends, are available
