Duvall Homes: Inside Volusia Parent Magazine

May 1, 2019 – Duvall Homes is proud to be a part of Volusia Parent Magazine’s Summer Planning Issue. The issue focuses on many exciting activities in which children can participate during the summer months, including volunteering.

Duvall’s mission of providing residential supportive care and day training services would not have lasted for 74 years if it weren’t for the generosity of our giving community. Community service is a huge part of that giving – an important activity for children to be part of and to learn from.

“We are fortunate to have the most generous supporters, and without them, much of our work would be difficult to accomplish,” said Elizabeth Bhimjee, Duvall Home’s Chief Marketing & Development Officer. “Volunteers are part of our long history, and we rely heavily on their kindness and compassion.”

We are fortunate to have a community of ambassadors of all ages who continue to donate their time assisting Duvall’s staff and residents. These caring groups are dedicated to service all year round and are essential to our daily operations.

Duvall’s story on Developing Community Ambassadors, appears inside the May issue of Volusia Parent Magazine, as well as Flagler and St. Johns Parent Magazines. Read the full story here on pages 8 and 9.

FLCHS Students Help Our Banners Sparkle For Gala

September 21, 2018 – Thank you Father Lopez Catholic High School students for your community service. For the second year in a row, FLCHS students helped clean our 16 seven-foot Duvall banners.

The two-sided pole banners collected dirt and debris while on display in downtown DeLand last August. Close to 20,000 vehicles (FDOTand pedestrians passed the banners each day along Woodland Blvd. and were able to view images of empowerment of those we serve.

Next week, the banners will be repurposed at Duvall’s 2018 Inspiration Gala so that family and friends can enjoy the sparkling smiles again.

Thank you to banner sponsors Reames Employee Benefits Solutions, Inc., Florida Hospital and Florida Public Utilities.

A Day of Service from Father Lopez Catholic High School

March 16, 2018 – Students from Father Lopez Catholic High School in Daytona Beach volunteered their time last weekend to prep and paint five garden benches and a large picnic table for the grounds at Duvall Homes Glenwood Campus. This is the second year students from Father Lopez have donated time beautifying the outdoor walking area for participants at Duvall’s Opportunities Enrichment Center. (View 2017 images.)
